Factory Sealed DVD Certification

Quick DVD Delivery offers Factory Sealed DVD Certification to help customers protect the authenticity, condition, and value of collectible DVDs.

FREE CERTIFICATION ON DVDs OVER $35

Factory Sealed DVDs priced over $35 are eligible for free certification as an option, provided they meet our certification requirements. Certification is optional.

Why Is DVD Certification Important?

An enormous number of DVDs offered for sale online, particularly those priced over $30, have been resealed. Sellers purchase used DVDs, rewrap them, and offer them for sale as Factory Sealed DVDs at higher prices.

Thousands upon thousands of resealed DVDs have made their way into customer collections.

When a customer discovers that a DVD has been resealed, the seller may simply claim that they purchased it sealed themselves and offer a return. The customer is left with no reliable way to establish the DVD's history.

A DVD with folded ends is not necessarily factory sealed.

Folded-end wrapping machines are available to DVD sellers, including Quick DVD Delivery. Professional-looking folded ends can be reproduced on used DVDs.

A DVD with folded ends is not comparable to an unopened Star Wars action figure in its original packaging or an unopened pack of 1989 Upper Deck trading cards.

The appearance of the plastic wrap alone cannot establish authenticity.

The factory wrap is only as trustworthy as the person selling it.

We cannot verify the history of every sealed DVD offered by other sellers. We can, however, stand behind our own inventory and the certification process we perform.

What Qualifies for Factory Sealed Certification?

A DVD must have clean factory wrapping with folded ends to even be considered for certification. Folded ends alone do not establish authenticity.

Our certification standards are strict. A DVD with any of the following conditions will not be considered.

Automatic Disqualifications

  1. Writing on the plastic wrapping.
  2. Stickers or sticker residue.
  3. Torn plastic wrapping.
  4. Tape of any kind.
  5. Shrink wrapping, including factory-applied shrink wrap.
  6. DVDs obtained from customer collections or other sellers.
  7. Anything that alters the original factory wrap.

Any one of these conditions automatically disqualifies the DVD from certification.

A DVD may be genuinely factory sealed and still fail to meet our certification standards.

Our Certification Process

Quick DVD Delivery carefully inspects its own inventory to ensure that disqualifying DVDs have not been mixed into our older stock.

We use a list of inspection checks designed to identify signs of resealing. Every DVD receives a Pass or Fail determination. Only DVDs that pass can proceed to certification.

1 Inspection

The DVD is carefully examined using our checks for resealed DVDs and our qualification requirements.

2 Pass or Fail

The DVD receives a Pass or Fail result. Only qualifying DVDs that pass proceed.

3 Photographs

The actual DVD is photographed from the front and back.

4 Protective Bag

The DVD is placed into a protective bag.

5 Security Seal

The bag is sealed with a tamper-proof, individually serial-numbered sticker.

6 Outer Protection

The certified DVD is placed into a second protective bag to protect the sealed bag.

7 Online Record

The certified item is made available for online viewing using its unique serial number.

Online Certification Verification

Every certified DVD receives an individually serial-numbered security seal.

Using that serial number, the certified item can be viewed online, including photographs of the actual DVD from the front and back.

This allows a potential future buyer to examine the documented item rather than relying entirely on the current seller's description.

Protecting the Certification

The second protective bag protects the original sealed certification bag. The certified DVD can remain protected inside its tamper-proof packaging.

What If You Want to Open Your DVD?

Certification is optional.

Customers who intend to open their DVDs can decline certification. This avoids unnecessary inspection, documentation, and protective packaging for an item that will be opened.

For customers who wish to preserve a collectible Factory Sealed DVD, certification provides a documented record of the actual item.

Quick DVD Delivery Certification

Factory Sealed DVD Certification is about more than the appearance of plastic wrapping. It is about careful inspection, documented merchandise, and accountability.

The factory wrap is only as trustworthy as the person selling it.
