Share your thoughts about the DVD Business and get $10 on your account
The DVD business has really changed in the last 5 years. Its not just a retail business like hardware or car parts. You have the titles that are still being produced from the studios. You have DVDs that are original but no case or cover. You have reprinted DVDs. You have DVDs that are out of print and being sold for $100s of dollars. Then you also have people that are creating fakes of the originals and not informing customers. They are trying to sell these for the prices of the originals.
We find that what we think customers know and understand about the business, is not always the case. Some customers are die hard collectors and now investors, and there are customers that are buying DVDs for the first time in their lives.
We are just looking for your perspective. If you can email us through the contact us form on the website or email support@quickDVDdelivery.com
Just answer as many of these questions as you can.
- We realize everyone watches DVDs for the content. But are you also a collector and investor? If you are can you share what you look for and what DVDs have value to you?
- How can we help you find the items you are looking for? The only thing I can't do is organize DVDs by the performer. I can do just about anything else. If you said, I want to see all the Brazzers titles that are lesbian, I can create that link for you. It takes 2 seconds. I get a lot of requests for a link to DVDs that aren't in production any longer. So its not that I can't create the page, its that I just can't get those DVDs. Some things are really easy, but some things just can't be done. But if we can do it, we are glad to.
- As more studios discontinue DVDs and reduce the size of their inventories and also as more studios call it quits, the amount of new DVDs will keep getting smaller. More and more DVDs are being offers on DVD-R's which are recordable DVDs. Even some studios are printing their own DVDs on DVD-R's so they can do smaller batches. As content becomes more scarce will you buy these reprints for the content. They are typically sold at 2.99 to 4.99. It depends on the size of the file. If the movie file is large it has to go on a more expensive Disc. Smaller files can go on a cheaper disc. The more space on the disc the more expensive it is. It also takes longer to process.
- Shipping prices just continue to rise. We know free shipping is important, but free shipping is not free. If we charge $5.99 for certain studios know that if someone buys 10 of them we have to account for free shipping, what about the customer who buys 100 of them. That guy just spent $90 to save $10. We have priced our DVDs as low as we can. We charge exact shipping. Customers who buy small orders are paying the same. Customers that buy larger orders are saving as much as $100 per order. Free shipping hurts most customers. It favors maybe 1% while charging more to everyone else. Its been the biggest scam in retail history. We now offer UPS. Share any questions or concerns about shipping.
- Sometimes customers ask for things, but its something we can't do. Sometimes customers ask for things and we say "We never thought of that." If you have anything that you say "Why don't they do this?" Give it a shot. We can't think of everything and its hard to always see the business from the customers perspective.
We aren't going to deny anyone the $10 credit, but try to give an honest effort. You don't have to write a book and you don't have to reply to all 5 things. If you have something you think is a good idea please share it.
If its something amazing, I may award bonus credit to your account.
